Dear Friends,
For
Arab and Middle Eastern countries, the meeting of the Pan Arab
Hypertension Society represents the most important regional scientific
event in the field of hypertension. The meeting has 3 main objectives.
First, promote research related to high blood pressure among Arab
Physicians. Second, provide up-to-date information that help physician
education and improve patient care. Third, establish link between
different centers, groups and persons interested in Hypertension. The
basic massage, however, is exchange of information and find ways to
improve our physician knowledge in a very important area of medicine.
Hypertension is such a serious disease which has been neglected by our
physicians, consider by many as a boring and dull subject. It is one of
our goals to create interest in this subspecialty among our young Arab
doctors. The rapid proliferation of scientific knowledge addressing
mechanism, molecular biology, epidemiology and drug therapy will make
hypertension such a challenging and interesting subject. The fact that
environmental, genetic and lifestyle factors influence hypertension
prevalence, outcome and response to therapy underscores the need for
local research in our Arab population.
The
venue of the meeting is Beirut-Lebanon; one of my most favorite cities.
Through its mountains, pine trees, Mediterranean Sea and very pleasant
people, Lebanon is such an ideal touristic attraction.
On
behalf of the pan Arab Hypertension Society, I invite you to participate
in our meeting, enjoying both the scientific program and the beautiful
Lebanon.
M.Mohsen Ibrahim, MD
President of the Pan Arab Hypertension Society
